Quantize B to A
shapes and warps= b moved to the nearest of n levels spread evenly over -1..+1 (both ends included), n = 1 + 16 × |a| rounded down, at most 16Turns b into a staircase: it jumps between equal steps instead of moving smoothly, and a sets how many.

WHAT TO KNOW
INPUTS
a: the number of steps, usually a constant (a negative a counts as positive); b: the source to step.
OUTPUT RANGE
b's range in steps; 0 while |a| is under 0.0625 (one level)
USE IT FOR
Stepped pitch from a smooth controller or LFO: with a = 1 a unipolar b on a 1200 ct pitch depth climbs an octave in 8 steps; stepped filter sweeps; velocity in coarse bands. The factory's 31 slots: Note St and AttVel, the velocity in 16 levels while the note is held and 0 once it is released (one level).
WATCH OUT
A unipolar b gets about half the levels (8 at a = 1); with an odd count a bipolar b has a level at 0, with an even count it has none. Moving a while b moves adds odd extra steps.

HOW TO ON YOUR K2700 · 2046 Editor Template
The factory does not route Quantize B to A to a sound on its own: set one up on 2046 Editor Template and hear it on the pitch.
In Program mode choose 2046 Editor Template, a plain one-layer program to build on (KEYPAD, 2046, ENTER).

Press EDIT, then MORE and DSP MOD. On the Pitch row set Source 1 to FUN2 and its Depth to 1200 ct: FUN2's result, −1 to +1, now bends the pitch up to an octave either way.

MORE, then LFO+. On the FUN2 row set Input a to 0.50 and Input b to MWheel.

Move to Function and turn the Alpha Wheel to Quantize B to A.

Move the mod wheel slowly: the pitch climbs in steps of 300 ct, not smoothly. 0.50 makes nine levels a quarter apart over −1..+1; the wheel, 0 to 1, walks the upper five.
