ramp(f=a+b)
ramps= a sawtooth at 25 × (a + b) HzA sawtooth LFO at 25 times a + b, in Hz. A positive rate gives a saw rising from -1 to +1, a negative one a falling saw.
SEE IT MOVE
Computed in your browser with KINSPIRATION's FUN engine, step by step: this FUN keeps a state, so its output depends on what came before.
WHAT TO KNOW
INPUTS
a and b: the rate in two parts, often a constant base and a controller (0.04 means 1 Hz).
OUTPUT RANGE
-1..+1, a sawtooth
USE IT FOR
An LFO whose rate any source can sweep, even KeyNum or an envelope, and that reverses when the sum goes negative; the input of sin, cos or tri for swept sine or triangle LFOs.
WATCH OUT
The rate is 25 Hz per unit: 0.04 gives 1 Hz, 0.2 gives 5 Hz, 1 gives 25 Hz. Control sources move every 20 ms, so above about 10 Hz the saw is no longer clean.
IN THE FACTORY PROGRAMS
No factory program uses it: one of the K2700's hidden tools.
HOW TO ON YOUR K2700 · 2046 Editor Template
The factory does not route ramp(f=a+b) to a sound on its own: set one up on 2046 Editor Template and hear it on the pitch.
In Program mode choose 2046 Editor Template, a plain one-layer program to build on (KEYPAD, 2046, ENTER).

Press EDIT, then MORE and DSP MOD. On the Pitch row set Source 1 to FUN2 and its Depth to 1200 ct: FUN2's result, −1 to +1, now bends the pitch up to an octave either way.

MORE, then LFO+. On the FUN2 row set Input a to 0.04 and Input b to OFF.

Move to Function and turn the Alpha Wheel to ramp(f=a+b).

Hold a note: the pitch climbs from an octave down to an octave up and drops back, once a second: a 1 Hz sawtooth, 25 × 0.04. Each note starts its own.
Press EXIT and answer NO to leave the factory program as it was, or SAVE to keep your version on a USER ID.
