Brass
BrassDSP CTL · AMP ENV · DSP MOD · ENV2 · ENV3Synth brass is the filter's sound: closed when the note starts, opening as it swells, settling as it holds. ENV2 draws that swell on the cutoff; velocity sets how bright each note gets; a short drop in pitch at the start gives the attack a lip.
SEE IT MOVE
Computed in your browser with KINSPIRATION's engine, sample by sample, from each step's whole program: its oscillators, filters, envelopes, LFOs and effects. It is close to the K2700, not the K2700 itself.
WHAT TO KNOW
THE SWELL
ENV2's attack is the brass's breath: 0.1 s to 0.2 s. Faster sounds like a pluck, slower like a pad.
THE LIP
ENV3 on Saw Pch, Depth -24 ct, decaying in 60 ms: the note starts a little flat and settles.
IN THE FACTORY PROGRAMS
796 LP Frq rows read ENV2. Where it is on Source 2, its depth most often follows FUN2.

HOW TO ON YOUR K2700 · your start
Build the brass on your start: two saws, a breath of attack, a closed filter that swells open by velocity, and a lip.
In Program mode choose your start, saved at the end of lesson 1 (My Sound, on its USER ID).

Press EDIT, DUP LYR, and on layer 2's DSP CTL the Saw Pch row's Fine to 6 ct.

Layer 1's Fine to -6 ct; on both, the Amp row to 0 dB.

Press AMP ENV: on both layers Att1 40 ms, Dec1 0.6 s to 85 %, Rel1 0.3 s.

DSP CTL: LP Frq F 4 349 Hz, on both layers.

Press ENV2: Att1 0.12 s, Dec1 0.8 s to 55 %.

DSP MOD: the LP Frq row's Source 2 ENV2, Depth Ctl ON, Max Depth 4200 ct.
