Envelope control

SpeedAdjust · KeyTrk · VelTrk · Src

Three rows of the AMP ENV page speed up or slow down the attack, the decay and the release: a fixed factor, one by the key, one by velocity for the attack, and a control source. The factory hangs its Attack and Release sliders here.

WHAT TO KNOW

THE FIELDS

For the attack, the decay and the release: Adjust (a factor), KeyTrk (by the key), VelTrk (the attack only), Src and Depth (the factor at the source's top). 1.000x leaves the speed as it is; 2x halves the time, 0.5x doubles it.

HOW KOACH RUNS IT

The factors multiply: Adjust, KeyTrk once per octave from C4, VelTrk reached at velocity 127 (its inverse at 1) and Depth reached at the source's top.

USE IT FOR

Notes that die away faster toward the treble, as on a piano; attacks that speak sooner when played harder; a slider that turns a pluck into a pad.

WATCH OUT

A Depth of 0.018x on a slider makes the time about 55 times longer at the top: a slider left up makes every attack slow. In KOACH these rows act on the AMPENV only.

IN THE FACTORY PROGRAMS

7885 of the 8829 VAST layers set an envelope control row. The attack's: MIDI22 (Slider 3) in 6562 layers; the release's: MIDI23 (Slider 4) in 6002.

HOW TO ON YOUR K2700 · 2 Dyn 9ft Grand

Dyn 9ft Grand puts its attack on Slider 3: push the slider and the attack slows down.

  1. In Program mode choose 2 Dyn 9ft Grand (KEYPAD, 2, ENTER).

Program mode with 2 Dyn 9ft Grand
  2. Press EDIT, layer 3 (CHANNEL/LAYER ▲), MORE, AMP ENV. The Attack row: Adjust 0.610x, Source MIDI22 (Slider 3), Depth 0.018x.

  3. Push Slider 3 to the top and play: a Depth of 0.018x makes the attack about 55 times longer. The Release row does the same on MIDI23 (Slider 4): 0.050x, a release about 20 times longer.

  4. Press EXIT and answer NO to leave the factory program as it was, or SAVE to keep your version on a USER ID.
