Low pass and high pass
Filters1, 2 and 4 poles · cutoffA low pass lets the partials below its cutoff through and turns down the ones above; a high pass does the opposite. How steeply depends on its poles: a 1-pole LOPASS falls 6 dB an octave, the 2POLE LOWPASS 12 dB, the 4-pole filters 24 dB. The cutoff is a row like any other: a note and its Hz, moved in cents.

WHAT TO KNOW
THE FAMILY
LOPASS and HIPASS take one block, 2POLE LOWPASS and 2POLE HIPASS two, 4POLE LOPASS W/SEP, 4POLE HIPASS W/SEP and 4POLE MOGUE LP all four.
THE SLOPE
Above the cutoff a low pass falls 6 dB an octave a pole. The red curve on the left is the filter; the dots, the KEY's partials before and after it.
USE IT FOR
Brightness: a low pass under a slider, an envelope or velocity; a high pass to thin a sound out or take the rumble from its lowest notes.
WATCH OUT
A cutoff below the note's own pitch leaves only a faint fundamental: KeyTrk 100 cents a key keeps the filter in the same place for every note.
IN THE FACTORY PROGRAMS
The factory's low and high passes: the 2POLE LOWPASS in 4,722 layers (median cutoff 415 Hz), the 1-pole LOPASS in 1,976 (2.49 kHz), the HIPASS in 983 (175 Hz).

HOW TO ON YOUR K2700 · 673 1-Note PowerRiff
1-Note PowerRiff's second layer has a 2POLE LOWPASS and a HIPASS: find their cutoffs and move one.
In Program mode choose 673 1-Note PowerRiff (KEYPAD, 673, ENTER).

Press EDIT, go to layer 2 with CHANNEL/LAYER ▲, then MORE and DSP CTL. The LP Frq row is F#4 370 Hz, the 2POLE LOWPASS's cutoff, with KeyTrk 100 ct/key.

With the cursor on it turn the Alpha Wheel twelve steps up, to F#5 740 Hz: a semitone a step, the filter an octave higher and the sound brighter.

Down on the HP Frq row, E 3 165 Hz: the HIPASS in F3, its cutoff.
